    Sims 3 Base Game Versions

    Introduction There Sims 3 Base game exists in different variations Version before September 2012 The older version can be installed without Origin and it’s possible to bypass the launcher. The registration is optional and Origin does not need to be on your computer to work properly. The ingame store and automatic updates won’t work if you don’t have Origin installed.     Installing Base Game from DVD

    Introduction Installation from DVD differs depending on when you bough the base game with September 2012 being the important date. The difference between the two is whether or not you need to have Origin. When Sims 3 first came out in June 2009, there was no Origin. EA only had the EA Download Manager and that was not mandatory.
