Problem

While patching I get this error message:  Update Error: Invalid File Found or Update Error: File not Found

InvalidFile

Cause

This error occurs if a file does not match the file the patch is expecting or a file is missing. There are multiple reasons for that.

  • A mod that replaces the original file
  • Origin is not updated
  • Incorrect manual patch (wrong region, wrong increment)
  • Issue with the Patch itself.

Solution

Use the Patch Downloader to patch your game. It will tell you which file is the culprit or you can use the Force Super option to force the Superpatch.

You can also manually download the Superpatch and then apply that. The Superpatch contains all changes from all regions, languages and patches and doesn’t care at which version you’re currently at.
