    Hi Crinrict,
    you say social features (not Simport) are confiremd to be in the patch. Does this mean it’s confirmed that Simport will NOT be installed with the patch or is that still unconfirmed? I would be surprised when Simport comes not with it because this webservice would also be usable with future addons (I’m not talking about the Showtime reward system behind the endpoints!).

      As far as I understood the various chats, SimPort is exclusive to Showtime but I would not bet on it. So I say, no real info I know of.

    Hey Crin,

    There were a few doors posted on MTS back in December 2011. It took a while for people to notice, but the doors were actually causing CTDs and were removed from MTS. However, I don’t know if everyone knows this so I thought maybe you could put it on your blog with the other items that can screw up a game.

    Thank you for making your S3S Browser available to the community. I check it before making any sims3 store purchase. It is simple to install and easy to navigate. It has saved me from making double purchases several times. This program is very much appreciated.

    The hyponotizer from EA found here is Corrupt…causing an out of range error on the TSR Regifx…since i went to school for programming i knew this was not good…i have been looking for 7 days to locate the problem…anyway i thought u would like to know.

    Crin I hope you can help me.. I can’t recieve wedding gifts for my newly weds! Do you know if EA has a solution? Or what shoul I do? I miss that interaction and is not fair due to the stupid showtime patch =(

      I don’t know of any solutions. It’s a bug the introduced with the ST bug and all we can do atm is to wait for EA to fix this or ask a modder to.

    Hi Crin! I don’t know if u’re familiar with the edible food from around the sims’? or the one by OneBillionPixels?
    Because, the thing is when I put the pastries or the other edible food inside the display after a few minutes they dissapear. And I’m pretty sure it’s caused by overwatch because I’ve that mod installed and it’s deleting them (I think edible food is cataloged as cars or something like that because overwatch deletes them) Does anybody else complain about this? Do u know if nrass could help me?

      No idea. Never heard of that. Did you try taking OW out and see if you
      have the same issue ? I can’t really help you so you need either contact
      ATS or OMP or Twallan

    Ok, so I tried to write on tour wall at the sims page, but couldn’t do so, so I sended yoy a friend req, I’ll hope u accept it beacause I’v got som huge pc promblems. Normally i just check out this site and get rid off bad CC, but now it’s not working. So I was hoping we could have a chat and maybe u got time to help me?:)

    Hi !! what if the cc(bad clothing ) doesnt turn up in the launcher? its only my downloaded sims who turns up .. how can i delete the bad cc? hope you have some anwers !! sorry about my bad english !!

      Then it probably came with a Sim directly. You need to remove the Sim itself.

    I just joined your site and I wanted to say I really thank you for making this site. EA’s support has drastically decreased. When I would contact their customer support they would end up just telling me they didn’t support in-game play and refer me to the user forums. (Since then, I have finally had one of their techs admit that he IS AWARE of the problem I’m having and that I will have to wait for an update to fix the bug. Took me six months to get the admission it’s them, not me!)

    Sorry, this isn’t a rant against EA, I just am trying to convey how grateful I was when I finally found this website after months of not being able to play my game. You are so meticulous and it is such a beautiful, easy to use site. With your help I am slowly tracking down the bugs in my game one-by-one and it’s like a very kind and more technologically savvy friend is leading me through it one step at a time. When something goes wrong with my game, I don’t panic; you always have the answer no matter how obscure the problem is.

    You are amazing, thank you so much. You’re the best. You, in a word, ROCK. 🙂

    Hi! I just wanted to say that your site is more helpful than the Help Center at EA. I noticed that for error code 12 you had mentioned it is best to use a 64-bit system. My computer is up to requirements (I have a Intel Core Duo processor instead of a Pentium 4) & I have had houses vanishing (in edit town, there are lots that have the house symbol there, a house was there, but the lot is clearly empty) since one of the patches. I’m currently running Windows 7 32-bit & was wondering if that might be the cause? Does the 64-bit system make that much of a difference? If it does, that would be great as I have to wait on a new computer & I haven’t played in 3 years because EA has not been able to help me, just give me the run around. Thanks!

    Crin, your site looks great! As always, I’m able to find just what I need. However, this problem continues to bug me. I’ve been unable to play my game for some time now, and keep getting this same error message:

    -Pure Virtual Function Call

    Do you know what this means? I’ve asked at the Sims 3 forum and no one has answered. I’m really on the verge of tears. I want so bad to play, but just can’t get my launcher to work. At the moment, I’m removing all of my CC, and my Mods. I’ve removed half it so far, and I’m still getting this same message! Please tell what to do!

    Hi There,

    I was reading about Custom Content from Simport and it says its fixed, but a few days ago, I found someone’s sim downloaded on to my launcher and installed.

      The Sim usually gets installed temporarily. It gets deleted when simporting is over. If anything goes wrong with Simport, it does not get deleted and stays. This has nothing to do with custom content cause before, you got actual hair and clothing installed in your game and that is fixed.

      Now, if the sim happens to have cc attached to itself, you’ll get that but that’s usually only skins. When you have a problem with Simport, always go to your launcher to check for any leftover sims.

    Hi Crinrict First congratulations on your site that is really wonderful.
    I Installed patch 139 and the launcher stopped working, first time I restarted the computer and the launcher run but when I tried to create a new game the game crash, and from there I can not play because the launcher simply don’t works!
    I have no mods, yes I have cc, but before the 139 patch everything worked perfectly.
    Is there a way to “uninstall” this patch?

      Patches can’t be uninstalled. You will need to uninstall the base game and patch to 1.38 only.

    Cin I was reading your latest post on the Money tree issue with patch 1.39 EA has to destroy everthing don’t they. It is the nature of the beast. My problem maybe related the Sims could only harvest one plant at a time. It started in France and then when you try to go back to world adventures your Sims will not appear. Not sure if this is the same problem but I have found no one else addressing the Issue of Sims disappearing the only fix I could come up with is load him to the library and start a new game to go back to any place in world adventures.

    Hi crin,
    Was wondering if you could help me ? My game used to run perfectly. Then i installed i think the 4th expansion pack and it went downhill from there. My game would crash and completely shut down my pc. I uninstalled the last expansion pack but still my game never ran smoothly again…even with that last expansion pack gone (deleted, i think i deleted it correctly) .. the game would shut my pc down and turn it off. with no solution i gave up playing. It’s been over a year and i don’t know if my drivers are up to date or out of date or what ? I’m just not an expert at anything to do w/ a pc

    I am hoping you can help or give me a new direction to look. Recently my game has started dropping me, especially while in CAS. The screen goes black and says it’s going in to ‘Sleep mode’. I have several mods (all from NRAAS), sliders and CC. I have tried running with no CC and it still happens. I’ve updated all my sliders and mods and it still happens. I deleted all my CC, ran without mods – same result. Yesterday, I uninstalled Sims 3 and all the ep’s, etc – ran a virus scan and cleaned up my system and reinstalled all of it. Thinking that fixed the problem – I started my game and got several minutes in to creating a sim and it did it again. The screen went black and said it’s going in to sleep mode. I am at my wits end and am hoping for a fresh perspective. Any thoughts?
    Please help.

      This happens to me all the time it is either the monitor or the power settings on your system. The new Green Monitiors are mostly to blame. Check first your power setting and set it to Never on Sleep Mode also check the Hibernate and set it to never Check also on the same list of settings what happens when you hit the power button I put it to shut down because you will get a warning. Next check your monitor settings some monitors allow control by your system some have seperate controls and will have to be set to system control only mode. some monitors you will have to set just like your system to never sleep.

    Crin, I’ve come across some CC while judging a contest that seems to be attaching to lots. The original creator has told others to replace the counters (as of August 28, 2012), but I think it’s starting to spread to lots on the exchange in that it will upload with the lots and I don’t think every one knows. As many tun to you for help, I thought I’d let you know. Here is the message from TSR: http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/Angela/blog/view-post/post/24326/Replace%20Arezzo%20Bathroom%20Counter I also have the custard screen save of what it looks like if you want that as well (let me know). I do not believe the person who uploaded even knew that they had it.

    Yes, it is looking like this is the case. The person who made the lot looked and looked for it and did not find ever using it and the message from the artist says there is wrong coding for it that will attach itself to lots being uploaded. I get that this attaches like some other cc where it doesn’t have to be used at all in that project but goes along for the ride.

    Crin, is is possible to do a blog post about the Arezzo cabinet or add it to your list on the CC items. It seems like a lot of people are having issues and as it’s kinda growing and spreading.       It is but not atm. I’m busy with the bug thread and other stuff unfortunately.

      There’s more to it than meets the eye and I want to post pics and all. There’s nothing we can do about the spreading anyways.

      I can see if I have time to add it to one of the lists though (it doesn’t really fit anywhere)

      It’s basically like any other download. Uninstall and you’ll be fine.

    Hey Crin, I have two issues.. and well its really irritating me.. to be honest I don’t know what has cause it, but I tried everything I can think of to fix it.
    First issue is my thumbnails picture, aint what it use to be, like its a screenshot not the actual picture of the item, here an image to the issue http://s1356.beta.photobucket.com/user/Char_bbz1991/media/UGH.png.html ( I think this has happened since Super Natural)
    my second issue is that since installing Super Natural I have had my game trying to uninstall it.. It hasn’t done it for the others, and my pc can handle it.. it’s doing my head in. please let me know asap!!! 🙁

      I don’t know much about the uninstalling issue. To off autorun I guess. As for the thumbnail, try deleting the thumbnail caches.

    Yes the graphics Issue you posted is a negative of the picture I have them sometimes even I can’t see the controls they go negative of the picture. The only thing I can suggest on this issue is reboot your computer and start the game again also make sure you have deleted all temp files in %temp% that are not protected and cleared the cashe all that done it should start working again. If not check for the compatabily of your graphics driver with Sims. Sometimes you have to go to an older driver. You must have that shadow 2.0 active for you graphics card or you will have issues all the time.

    Hey crinrict, I’m not a huge fan of imaginary friends, they can get extremely annoying at times, but recently I’ve noticed that I no longer get the imaginary friends dolls in my game , I’ve had 3 babies in the game and neither of them got the imaginary friend doll from the mail. My game is running fine, everything seems normal but I was wondering if a mod I’m using could cause this maybe? Or even Seasons ep conflicting with Generations? I don’t know, do you have any advice or anything that could help me resolve this issue?

      Not really. I think the chance is 75%. Maybe you were just unlucky. All my 4 children I had since I have Seasons had one. Only thing I could think of that could be a reason would be an outdated. Mod. If you want it added to the bug thread, please report before Monday in the official forum.

    hey crinrict,
    i just wanted to let you know that i saw your bug thread on sims not being able to spin while skating and that you said that it mostly happens for Hidden Springs. However, I have tried it in both Moonlight Falls, Sunset Valley, and the world from the EP Late Night (sorry i forgot the name). It doesn’t work in any of those worlds as well. It will give you the option to spin but only if there is another person on the rink. Now this problem has only just started because I had tried to skate when I first got seasons, which was when it first came out, and i could spin and it was pretty cool. So this must be a recent bug. However, I just wanted to let you know. Thanks for putting on here how to fix it though. 🙂

    Hi crin, just wanted to know if EA, has or is going to fix the Ghost Hunting bug. I have search throw a few forums, but no one knows any thing. I have even tried using the Sprit Posing Device, with out the Sim being in the job. But all I get is an error and Sim is reset to default location and then when I ask it to do something it all happens again.
    And I am getting very frustrated as the Ghost Hunting Career is one of my favourite careers.

    Hi Crin, I am not sure if this is going to help, but I have found what I think is the route of the Ghost Hunting Career bug. It would appear to be the (Ghost Positioning Device) I manage to unlock it and place it into a Sims inventory and now the hole family are unusable due to scrip errors when changing outfits.

    If you have someway of contacting the dev teams please advice them of possible cause of bug.

    Anyway, I have problem that my sims can’t spin/skate backward even though I got the notification they can do so. My sims were witch, but they can skate normally. Only no option for spin/skate backward. I used the world: moonlight falls. Hope you can help. Thanks again…

      Need to check the Moonlight Falls lot. The Hidden Springs one has a picknick area underneath the rink which causes the issue. For now, try replacing the rink. If it doesn’t help, please post at a forum.

    I am playing Moonlight Falls and I had my witch ice skate. She was able to and maxed out the skill, but I could not get have to spin at all. Her husband who is human was able to spin and spin with others. When my two sims were the only ones ice skating, I tried to get him to skate with his wife (the witch) the menu came up but there was no sims listed. Other times another sim was listed but I assume she was a human. I hope this helps.

    Hi Crin! I’m so sorry for disturbing you, i just wanted to say something for you! I saw that how busy you are, and that you have a lot of problem with the AnswerHQ.
    I posted a thread yesterday, and i posted it because i try everything you wrote in your Crashing FAQ. My game is crashing since Monday, so i waited 5 days and i try seriliusly everything! So i just wanted to say, i’m sorry for disturbing you between the holidays! 🙂

      I don’t mind the people that try stuff and seriously want help. That’s what it’s there for. It’s just that the majority of people don’t read and ask the same stupid serial code questions that first of all does not belong there and secondly has been answered 2000 times. Crashes are very individual and are ok to post. There’s no need to apologizes. If you posted all the info and tried a lot of things and made a post that actually gives info on your system and what to try, that’s really fine. Those are not the posts that make me not want to post there anymore.

    Thank you for the help you are supplying on this site. Once again the game was crashing. It seemed rather odd that it did since the only changes that I had been made to it at that time was the addition of houses from the exchange, and new items from the store. But both houses were deleted. Couldn’t figure it out.
    I then checked this site and followed your instructions on returning the game to it’s orginal state and then reinstalling the folders one at a time. Immediately I was able to determine the problem was caused by one household which was removed.
    The folder is now on my desktop just waiting there until I am able to determine if it could be fixed so it could be returned. That would be wonderful becaise right before the problem started the puppy grew up, and the Sim started to save her $$ to buy a fabulous house.

    Hi crin, I have a problem I was wondering if you could help me with it. I installed the sims 3 supernatural when it was released on Sept 4th without issue. I recently got a new computer and am trying to reinstall all my sims Error FullBuild_p15?
    I am not sure what the error is and im not sure what im supposed to do about it. Any ideas?

    Hello! I have a big problem, after I installed 70s, 80s, 90s stuff and its update, I am not able to create a new game on a different world (but I can enter normally to my old families) I tried taking off all Mods folder, and disable the Sims3 Packages too, but nothing changed, 🙁 I don’t know what happened here, please help me!!

    Hi!! Like many others, I wanted to tell you Thank You!! for doing what you do, to help us out with our issues. I was becoming extremely aggravated about this latest update.. as it IS the first update I was actually happy about. I am exhausted from not being able to accept mail as a result of the Omni plants in the mail box. Also the phone ringing all of the time.. and this fix is going to correct all of that.       I think you can download it. Just use the super patch if you get an invalid file error. I think the extra crashing issues are not something to be concerned about cause there’s bound to be more crashing with every patch, especially don’t who don’t have a graphic card but only a chip.

    Hi. I’m on patch 1.48, I want to update to 1.50 by incremental but I get invalid error.
    I’ve tried updating with copying code_version.txt from base game Bin to deltapackages/p17 but the same result. Please, is there any way to update my game by incremental update? Super Patch is really big for me to download. It would take days for me to download here. 🙁

      Not really. Restarting the game sometimes help but for some it seems a problem that never goes away. Sorry, can’t really help.

    Hey,

    the problem with people not being able to use social groups/ping pong tables/anything skill related since UL is most likely caused my skill mods. Removing them from my game fixed the problem for me. 🙂

    Hi, I downloaded a really nice custom content house. But it came with a Sim, which I did not want. I do not want to delete this lot, but whenever I try to place a copy, it only comes up with the sim. Please help!

      I read that somewhere. I think what it means is that the foundation doesn’t connect properly all the way around.

    I always look for your name in the forums for the Sims3 game site as your answers are usually the best and most detailed. Your work and time is very appreciated for this site and the game site.

    I am unable to put the right date in for the human verification answer to sign up here in any form of the date to the question asked ( yy/yy/yyyy or y/y/yy, etc) so I can’t download Custard which would help me a lot, but at least I can find some answers to other problems here. Thank-you again for your time spent on the problems you help people with.

    ~ MY SOLUTION FOR SIMS3 – “ERROR 12”:
    (WinXP Pro OS with 2.8Mhz Pentium4 & 2Gb ram)

    ~ USE THIS METHOD BEFORE YOU TRY OTHER METHODS LIKE THE ERROR TRAP MOD, ETC.

    ~ When my Sims3 started getting error code 12 on my WinXp Pro OS after I installed my last Sims3 expansion pack as well as losing my Sims3 game everytime, I ended up trying multiple tedious solutions from the internet which all failed, including the error “12” trap & no intro mod. But then I finally remembered the WinXp virtual memory settings which extends the physical memory after reading about the WinXP 2Gb size limit. So I decided to give it a try & it worked.

    ** Following is the method I used:
    ~ IN WINXP PRO, MAYBE OTHER WINXP VERSIONS, YOU HAVE A SETTING THAT CONTROLS YOUR VIRTUAL MEMORY WHICH VIRTUALLY EXTENDS YOUR PHYSICAL MEMORY BY USING YOUR MAIN DISK DRIVE SPACE.
    ~ CAUTION! ON MULTIPLE DRIVE COMPUTERS CHANGE ONLY THE VIRTUAL MEMORY FOR YOUR MAIN WINXP DISK DRIVE & MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF DISK DRIVE MEMORY TO ACCOMODATE THE CHANGE SINCE WINXP MAY GET A LITTLE TOUCHY OR UNSTABLE ABOUT DIFFERENT DISKS USING DIFFERENT VIRTUAL MEMORY CONFIGURATIONS OR IF THERE’S NOT ENOUGH DISK DRIVE SPACE TO ACCOMODATE THE TOTAL VIRTUAL MEMORY CHANGES.

    ** CLICK START->SETTINGS->CONTROL PANEL->SYSTEM->IN “SYSTEM PROPERTIES” CLICK “ADVANCED” TAB->THEN ON “PERFORMANCE” (CLICK SETTINGS)–>IN “PERFORMANCE OPTIONS”->CLICK “ADVANCED” TAB->THEN ON “VIRTUAL MEMORY” (CLICK CHANGE)->IN THE “VIRTUAL MEMORY” PAGE SELECT YOUR MAIN OS DISK DRIVE & CHECK THE MEMORY SIZE IN “PAGING FILE SIZE FOR SELECTED DRIVE” TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE “RECOMMENDED” SIZE AS SHOWN ON “TOTAL PAGING FILE SIZE FOR ALL DRIVES”->IF IT IS NOT THE RECOMMENDED SIZE VALUE THEN CHANGE YOUR SELECTED DISK VALUES, MINIMUM & MAXIMUM, TO THE RECOMMENDED SIZE VALUE->THEN CLICK “SET”->THEN CLICK “OK”.
    ~ YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

    Hello I have a strange error with my sims game I can’t find a solution for when I sent my sim to the university I couldn’t find the class schedule so I went through the possible fixes. Now this is when the problem shows up after I drop out and then send my sim back it treats it like a new game, asking me to make a new household or import a copied household. I am about to try your fix for a new university to hopefully fix the problem and I want to know if you’d like the save file which does have KPST or do you still not have it?

      At the moment, I have very little time and no I don’t have KPST so I don’t know if it would even work.

      I would try the mod fix way if you don’t mind mods.

        I finally managed to fix it and actually discovered why the original problem occured. Also I’m not sure if it would work either, anyway the best solution to fix the no schedule is to remove the unofficial shop patch mod and delete the cache. As well as delete the University Save files then attempt to join the University everything worked perfectly after I did this.

            That’s exactly where I found the solution but as for the solution to the university acting as a new game instead of taking the Sim you sent. That was one I could not find a solution for other than removing the University files, but for those that might end up with the University with a no schedule I wouldn’t recommend leaving the university and going back even after removing the store patch. As this could cause the University to act like a New Game prior to returning they should clear the university from their save file. Hopefully this will help others and thank you for your helpful post which fixed my problems.

    Thank you so much for this site! I’m relatively new to the sims, but have already had quite a bit of experience with their bugs and issues. Most I have figured how to clear up on my own, but the newest unusable rabbit hole issue has had me stumped. I actually removed both monte vista (which I have loved until the issues started) and lunar lakes (which I just purchased and haven’t even had a chance to really play) from my computer because I couldn’t find any help with the issues. When I finally stumbled across this site I was so happy! With a little creative editing, I can now play all my worlds, and finally explore all the possibilities of LL. Thanks again!

    When I start my game and select my household the game loads and when it is done loading, the game crashes and a message pops up that says,”Exception raised: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000008 at address 0x00729286. Do you wish to debug it?” I click yes and nothing gets fixed because every time I start my game it crashes and this message pops up. How do I fix this??

    I’m going to try resetting my game (without reinstalling it) using your post ‘Resetting the game to factory settings without reinstalling’ If I do this though, will I have to reinstall all my Expansion Packs/Stuff Packs? I only have disc versions, however I have sold some so there for no longer own them.

    I have the shoes on baby glitch and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I have taken my custom content out and tried and it is still there. I did a factory reset and that didn’t help. I don’t know what to do!! I hope I don’t have to reinstall sims 3!!
