Introduction The game will be added to your account automatically If you bought the game through the Origin Store. It is not possible to buy a game as a gift through Origin for someone else. If you bought the game through Amazon or a key-trader (most of those are not licensed by EA so be aware that it can lead to troubles buying through key-traders), you get a serial code which you can redeem on Origin where it says redeem a product code. Installing Base Game from DVD

Introduction Installation from DVD differs depending on when you bough the base game with September 2012 being the important date. The difference between the two is whether or not you need to have Origin. When Sims 3 first came out in June 2009, there was no Origin. EA only had the EA Download Manager and that was not mandatory. You didn’t need to register your game or make an account with EA. That is still true today. There is no EADM anymore, but you do not need Origin or an Origin account to enjoy your game. This tutorial is about the text messages and the user interface. Conditions Not all languages are available in all versions. The DVD Region 1 only contains English, Spanish and French, Region 2 has a few more but I’m unsure whether it has any of the Asian languages. If you can install the game in a certain language, you can use it. I’m unsure how it works for the download version atm but I’ll add the info as…
